Product Description

Our extraordinary adoption program for 1 of 1 plants with profound stories and purpose. Each plant comes with its unique name, backstory, adoption certificate, and personal letter connecting you to its journey.

With every adoption, proceeds go directly to 'Girls Write Now', a non-profit helping young writers share their stories and transform the world with their words.

This adoption is for 'Solana' the decade-old, 44-inch tall snake plant

Here's SOLANA'S STORY:

"I never thought I'd miss that dusty windowsill, but here I am, thinking about it again.

It was the kind of place where the sun poured in late in the afternoon, wrapping me in a golden warmth that I'd come to cherish.

The light had a way of softening the hard edges of my leaves, turning them from sharp swords into gentle blades.

In those quiet moments, in that old apartment, I felt most alive, most aware of my purpose as a guardian.

And then there was her—my caretaker, Marla.

A woman whose hands spoke stories of their own – artist's hands, stained with paints and wild dreams.

I remember the way her fingers would trace the edge of my tallest leaf as she whispered her secrets into the air.

Dreams of art galleries in distant cities, fears about leaving her hometown, and hopes of finding her place in the world.

I was more than just a plant to her; I was a confidant, a silent witness to her journey through joy and sorrow.

Marla always had this way of leaning in close when she watered me, smiling as if the simple act of giving me a drink was some sacred ritual, a shared moment just for us.

She understood that care isn't just about water and light – it's about presence, about taking time to truly see another being.

Her life was tangled and busy, much like the vines she tried (and failed) to keep alive in the bathroom.

I often watched her come and go, her hurried footsteps echoing through the house. But every Saturday, like clockwork, she slowed down.

She slowed down for me. That was our time.

She'd sit by the window, book in hand, with a steaming cup of herbal tea. Sometimes she'd read aloud, and though I didn't understand the words, I felt the soothing cadence of her voice ripple through my leaves.

It was almost hypnotic, those afternoons when time seemed to stand still.

Before I knew it, Marla's art started selling, first in local galleries, and then in shows all across the country.

But they say that time is unkind to many things, even to guardians like me.

Her art was finding its audience, her dreams taking flight, she started spending less and less time at home.

Her visits to the window became infrequent, then not at all. Her teacup sat cold and forgotten on the sill.

Saturdays became like every other day, lonely.

One morning, she came to me with tears in her eyes. This time felt different.

She knelt by my pot, clutching the rim as though I were something precious slipping away through her fingers.

"I have to go" she whispered, her voice catching. "Paris. They want to show my work. But I'll find you a new home, I promise. Someone who will love you, and take better care of you than I can now."

The next day, I was taken to a new place, a shop that smelled of fresh blooms and damp soil. They called it DBD Florist.

It was here I stood, waiting, my leaves trembling with the memory of Marla's touch and the echo of her comforting voice.

I miss her. I miss our Saturdays. But I am patient. A guardian plant like me knows how to wait, and knows that endings often lead to beautiful beginnings.

And now, I am ready.

Ready to stand tall once more in someone's home, to feel that warmth of sunlight, to guard against the chaos of the world.

I have so much more to give, so many more moments to witness, and so much more peace to bring into someone's world.

Perhaps you are my new caretaker—the one who will share secrets with me, read books by my side, and bring me into a life full of love and quiet, golden afternoons."
